The Communication Channels of the FID in Criminology

Abstract

Communication with the academic community is a key prerequisite for developing a specialized information service that meets user needs. This article examines the communication strategy of the FID Criminology and its importance for promoting its services and identifying information needs. Starting with the newsletter, which was originally the central communication channel, the article describes the evolution toward a combination of digital and analog communication formats. In addition to social media and the KrimBlog, virtual introductions to KrimDok, participation in academic conferences, and the “KrimDok News” section play an important role. Experience shows that the reach of individual communication channels is constantly changing, making a diversified strategy necessary.
